DecAthlete (known as Athlete Kings in Europe) is a 3D track and field powerhouse ported from the arcades to the Saturn by Sega’s AM3 division. It was an essential title for sports fans, documenting the peak of the mid-90s “button-mashing” athletics genre that followed in the footsteps of classics like Track & Field (NES).

The gameplay features ten distinct events that comprise the traditional decathlon, ranging from the explosive 100m sprint and long jump to the endurance-testing 1500m run. The experience is defined by its vibrant, oversized character designs—each representing a different nation with a distinct, almost caricatured personality.
