SEGA Flash Vol. 2
A promotional sampler and one of the few official ways to preview Saturn titles before purchase, this follow to the initial Sega Flash provided a number of later major games for the Saturn.
Description
Sega Flash Vol 2 was part of Sega Europe’s Sega Flash series of PAL‑region demo discs for the Sega Saturn, distributed through the official Sega Saturn Magazine in the UK. Released in June 1996 with issue 12 of the magazine, it continued the line’s role as a promotional sampler, combining playable previews with video footage of upcoming titles. Packaged in a standard jewel case, it reflected a showcase of the Saturn’s evolving library during its mid‑life period in Europe.
Volume 2 released with magazine issue 12 in September 1997. The magazine sold with the disc for £3.99 or for £2.75 without. Like its companions, it was packaged with the magazine in a standard jewel case.
I believe Volume 2 may have also be used in place of Volume 1 with some console bundles, at least in Australia.
It contains five playable demos:
- NiGHTS
- Sega World Wide Soccer 97
- Athlete Kings
- Baku Baku
- Panzer Dragoon II
Additionally, it features video demonstrations of:
- Exhumed
- Virtua Fighter Kids
- The Story of Thor 2
- Three Dirty Dwarves
