AC Adapter
Famicom, Super Famicom and Virtual Boy power supply.
Bundled in Set
Description
First introduced alongside the original Family Computer (Famicom) in 1983, the HVC-002 quickly became Nintendo’s standard AC adapter for multiple systems in Japan, including the Famicom, AV Famicom, and Super Famicom, and Virtual Boy.
The unit is compact, with a fixed cable and plug, and was built to Nintendo’s durability standards — many original units still function decades later. Its model code “HVC” comes from the Famicom’s internal designation: Home Video Computer. While electrically simple, the HVC-002 is region-specific: it’s intended for Japan’s lower mains voltage. It outputs DC 10V at 850mA via a barrel connector, powered by Japan’s 50/60Hz 100V AC mains.
