System Link Cable
An entirely generic ethernet patch cable marketed for LAN gaming on the original Xbox to link two systems directly, or more
Description
The System Link Cable enabled two Xbox units could be linked directly in an ad-hoc network, or multiple units could be attached through network routers/switches to play across a network. Although this would become a standard method to connect, the Xbox was the first console to have inbuilt ethernet and not use a direct serial connection. Contemporaneously, the PlayStation 2 initially used a iLink/Firewire direct connection.
