Description
Destiny: The Collection is a 2016 compilation of Bungie’s shared‑world sci‑fi shooter Destiny and all of its major expansions. Released alongside the final Destiny expansion Rise of Iron, it was designed as the definitive entry point for new players and a convenient all‑in‑one package for those who had missed earlier content.
The set includes:
- Destiny
- The Dark Below
- House of Wolves
- The Taken King
- Rise of Iron
Additionally, a one‑time character boost to bring a Guardian up to the required level for the latest missions.
The compilation lets players experience the full arc of Destiny’s evolving universe from the initial fight to reclaim humanity’s last safe city, through the battles against Crota’s Hive, the Fallen’s House of Wolves, Oryx and his Taken army, and finally the Iron Lords storyline in the Plaguelands. It also came with pre‑order bonuses like the Iron Gjallarhorn rocket launcher and Iron Gjallarwing Sparrow. For existing players on last‑gen consoles who owned The Taken King digitally, Bungie offered a reduced price upgrade path to The Collection.
Reception was generally positive for newcomers, as it bundled years of content into a single purchase, but returning players saw it more as a convenient upgrade path than a must‑buy. It marked the end of Destiny’s content cycle as Bungie shifted focus to Destiny 2 released the following year.
