The Mario & Luma amiibo was released worldwide to coincide with the launch of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Nintendo Switch. It depicts Mario soaring through space with a Luma following close behind, capturing the sense of adventure and cosmic exploration that defines the Galaxy games. Unlike previous Mario figures, this is a larger amiibo, which are relatively uncommon. The Galaxy pair joins figures such as Detective Pikachu, Mega Yarn Yoshi, and Guardian as amiibo that stand out from the standard scale. Mario & Luma was released along with a matching Rosalina & Lumas amiibo.
