Biohazard 3 Last Escape

バイオハザード3 ラスト エスケープ

A late‑generation port of the 1999 PlayStation classic, Biohazard 3: Last Escape on GameCube with minimal changes.

Description

Biohazard 3 Last Escape, known as “Resident Evil 3 Last Escape” internationally, follows Jill Valentine, a former S.T.A.R.S. officer, as she attempts to escape Raccoon City during the T‑Virus outbreak. The narrative overlaps with the events of Biohazard 2, beginning 24 hours before and concluding two days after Leon and Claire’s story. Jill is relentlessly pursued by the Nemesis‑T Type, a bio‑weapon designed to eliminate surviving S.T.A.R.S. members, which introduces a constant sense of pressure and unpredictability.

Gameplay retains the series’ fixed‑camera survival horror structure: pre‑rendered backgrounds, limited ammunition, and puzzle‑based progression. New features include a live selection system that presents timed choices affecting the story, a dodge mechanic for evading attacks, and the ability to craft custom ammunition using gunpowder. These additions gave the game a more action‑oriented pace compared to its predecessors.

After the GameCube original biohazard 0 prequel and the remake of the original biohazard, the other instalments in the series were ported to the system. However this time they only received minor graphical upgrades. The GameCube edition is essentially a direct port, combining elements of the PlayStation and Windows versions. It uses the higher‑resolution 480p backgrounds from the Windows release, though in some cases these were replaced with upscaled PlayStation assets, resulting in uneven visual quality. It is the only version of the game that shipped fully uncensored in North America. Unlike the Dreamcast and Windows ports, the GameCube version does not include the extra alternate costumes. In summary though this was the ‘best’ version of the game at the time.
