Description
Densetsu no Quiz Ō Ketteisen (Legendary Quiz Championship Tournament) that blends fast-paced trivia with game show theatrics, offering both single-player and multiplayer tournament formats. It was one of the final Nintendo published titles for the GameCube and among the few to utilise the GameCube Microphone, a peripheral introduced with Mario Party 6. The game presents a stylised quiz tournament, where players compete to become the “Legendary Quiz King” by answering a series of timed questions across varied categories, including general knowledge, pop culture, and Japanese history.
The interface mimics a televised game show, complete with animated hosts, flashy transitions, and escalating difficulty. Players respond using either standard controller input or voice commands via the microphone, though the latter is limited to simple selection and confirmation rather than full speech recognition. The game supports up to four players locally, with bracketed progression and score tracking. The game was released in select Western territories as Nintendo Quiz Challenge, with adapted question pools and English-language support, although it was not widely marketed.
