The original 2017 Nintendo Switch is a hybrid console powered by a custom Nvidia Tegra X1 system-on-chip, featuring:

- 32 GB of internal eMMC storage
- Storage expandable via microSD up to 2 TB

The launch firmware was stable and perfectly adequate but lacked many features most users took for granted as the system became more popular in later years particularly during the pandemic.
