A set of two wireless controllers designed for the Nintendo Switch, released as one of the system’s core accessories and bundled in the launch hardware configuration. Contains Joy-Con L (HAC-015) in Neon Red, Joy-Con R (HAC-016) in Neon Blue, 2x Joy-Con Strap in Black (HAC-014).
Description
The Joy‑Con Pair consists of a left Joy‑Con in neon blue and a right Joy‑Con in neon red, these being the Switch’s campaign colours. Each unit is equipped with a full set of buttons, an analogue stick, shoulder buttons, and motion‑sensing hardware (accelerometer and gyroscope). Both controllers support HD Rumble (Nintendo’s haptic feedback system), and the right Joy‑Con includes an IR Motion Camera for proximity and shape detection.
The pair can be used in multiple configurations: attached to the Switch console in handheld mode, slotted into the Joy‑Con Grip to mimic a traditional controller, or detached and used independently for multiplayer. Each Joy‑Con has its own wireless connectivity and battery, lasting up to 20 hours on a single charge. They recharge when connected to the console or via the optional Charging Grip.
The Neon Red/Neon Blue colour pairing became the most recognisable Joy‑Con set worldwide, serving as the default retail bundle in many regions. In Japan, Nintendo marketed the controllers as part of the broader Joy‑Con colour variation lineup, with the two‑tone pairing positioned as a playful alternative to the all‑grey set.
