A Japan-only Wii rhythm game and the second Taiko no Tatsujin release for the Nintendo Wii.
Description
Taiko no Tatsujin Wii: Dodoon to 2 Daime! follows the existing formula: players hit notes in time with music using either the dedicated drum controller, Wii Remote, or Classic Controller. This second entry refreshed the song list completely from the first Taiko no Tatsujin Wii, with 70 songs across categories such as J-pop, anime, classical, game music, variety, children’s songs, and Namco originals.
The major new feature was Boss Battle mode. In these battles, enemy characters interfere with the chart by hiding notes or inserting bomb notes, and the player defeats the boss by continuing to perform accurately and winning rapid-hit clashes. Multiplayer allowed players to cooperate against bosses, making the mode a more event-like addition to the standard rhythm gameplay. It also added more home-console progression and customisation features, including Hakase’s Laboratory for instructions and costume changes, and Motto! Mainichi Challenge Dojo, a challenge/training mode built around rhythm practice and special objectives.
The game was sold both as a standalone release and as a bundle with the dedicated TaTaCon drum controller.
