Official 4 MB flash storage accessory that holds up to 59 save blocks, for storing game progress, settings, and other in‑game data, and transfering between consoles.
Description
The Memory Card 59 was a tiny but essential companion for early GameCube owners and Nintendo’s answer to memory save data upon moving to optical media. Despite its modest capacity by today’s standards, it carried the weight of entire adventures in its pocket‑sized frame.
Initially, at least in Japan, these often were included with games, particularly those where save data was absolutely required. The limited size eventually became quite cumbersome, resulting in larger storage devices to be released.
