Super Scope 6

スーパースコープ6

A light‑gun compilation that introduced players to a new bazooka‑shaped peripheral through a set of six short shooting games.

Description

Super Scope 6, released in Europe as Nintendo Scope 6, is a collection of mini‑games that was bundled with the Nintendo Scope peripheral. The cartridge was divided into two groups: Blastris, which included puzzle‑inspired shooting challenges and a whack‑a‑mole style game, and LazerBlazer, which presented more straightforward arcade scenarios such as intercepting missiles or engaging enemy craft. The design was deliberately varied, to show what the peripheral could do, in addition to providing player’s a variety.

Super Scope 6 followed in the lineage of earlier light‑gun pack‑ins like Duck Hunt for the NES Zapper, which had also bundled multiple modes to showcase its hardware. Around the same period, Sega’s Menacer and Konami’s Justifier were competing for attention with their own light‑gun titles, though their libraries were similarly limited. Compared to more narrative‑driven shooters such as Battle Clash, Destructive, or X‑Zone, which came later for the same hardware, Super Scope 6 was more of a sampler platter than a full game, that it served its purpose but lacked depth for long‑term play.

Like all Super Scope games, it’s 2 players feature was alternating and not simultaneous play.
