SEGA Flash Vol. 6
A promotional sampler and one of the few official ways to preview Saturn titles before purchase. Today it serves as a small snapshot of the Saturn’s late‑era European library at a specific moment in its lifecycle.
Description
Sega Flash Volume 6 was part of Sega Europe’s Sega Flash series of PAL‑region demo discs for the Sega Saturn, distributed through the official Sega Saturn Magazine in the UK. These discs were the Saturn‑era precursor to the Dreamcast’s Dream On line, serving as promotional samplers that combined playable content with video previews of upcoming releases. It shouldn’t be confused with the similar named Japanese series, Flash Sega Saturn (フラッシュ・セガサターン), which had substantially more volumes.
Volume 6 released with magazine issue 27 in January 1998. Like its companions, it was packaged with the magazine in a standard jewel case.
It contains three playable demos:
-
- Sega Worldwide Soccer ’98
- Steep Slope Sliders
- Sega Touring Car Championship
Additionally, it features video demonstrations of:
-
- Enemy Zero
- Panzer Dragoon Saga
- The Lost World Jurassic Park
- NBA Action ’98
- Sonic R
