RF Cable
A simple single-wire cable with RCA and PAL connectors for transmitting a RF audiovisual signal.
Bundled in Set
Description
The RF Cable does not contain any switching or other functionality besides connecting a system to a TV. It is suitable for most consoles that have provide internal RF modulation as an output. It can also be combined with a modular RF switch for manual or automatic switching between an analogue TV source and a game console. The cable has a male RCA plug on one end to connect to the console and a male PAL antenna plug on the other, to connect to a TV or VCR.
RF output was the most common connection for early game systems although it was vastly inferior to just about any other options. Ideally one would connect a game system in a similar method to micro computers, by way of RGB to a quality display monitor. Unfortunately, some old systems have no other output option, without physical hardware modification. To use this on a modern system, one would need to source a display that still provides an analogue tuner or use an old PVR or DVD recorder possibly with HDMI output. All of these options remain poor in comparison with a different connection and using a high quality scaler.
