Description

Set aboard the sprawling space station in an alternate future, Prey sees a scientist caught in the aftermath of a catastrophic alien outbreak. The Typhon are hostile and psychic creatures capable of mimicking everyday objects. The protagonist Morgan navigates a labyrinth of morally ambiguous experiments, fractured memories, and escalating threats. This is a modern FPS that blends stealth, crafting, and RPG progression mechanics. The game encourages improvisation and exploration, offering multiple paths through its interconnected environments.

Prey along with BioShock are spiritual successors to System Shock with powers derived from alien biology and a narrative shaped by player choices. During this period it seemed like both the developer and publisher pushed out many similarly high quality FPS experiences, which Prey was one of many quite well received. Although the console versions provided an entirely adequate experience it is understandable I played this and similar such games predominantly on PC. Nonetheless looked quite solid on the PS4 Pro at the time.
