An ultimate edition of Nintendo’s beloved kart racer, packing every track, character, and mode from the Wii U original plus new features, refined mechanics, and a revitalised Battle Mode for the Nintendo Switch. Purchased at launch along with Joy-Con wheels.
Description
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe takes the already‑polished foundation of Mario Kart 8 and delivers it as a complete package. All previously released DLC including 48 tracks and a huge roster of racers are unlocked from the start, alongside newcomers like Inkling Boy and Girl, King Boo, Bowser Jr., and Dry Bones. The game retains the series’ signature mix of tight controls, inventive track design, and chaotic item play, enhanced by anti‑gravity racing sections, underwater segments, and gliding. New accessibility options like Smart Steering and auto‑acceleration make it easier for beginners to join the fun without slowing down seasoned players.
One of the biggest overhauls is the revamped Battle Mode, which replaces the Wii U version’s track‑based skirmishes with dedicated arenas and multiple rule sets, including Balloon Battle, Shine Thief, and Renegade Roundup. Double item slots return from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, adding more strategic depth to races, while item tweaks like the Boo (item‑stealing) and Feather (battle‑exclusive jump) keep matches unpredictable. Running at a smooth 60 FPS in both docked and handheld modes, with vibrant HD visuals and a lively soundtrack, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been one of the Switch’s most popular and accessible multiplayer experiences both off and online.
