A flamboyant 3D fighter, pitting eccentric, extreme-sports-inspired characters against each other in enclosed arenas where walls, and armour, can be shattered.
Description
A port of the 1998 Model 3 arcade release, Fighting Vipers 2 builds on the cult hit Fighting Vipers by retaining its signature three-button control scheme (Guard, Punch, Kick) and cage-enclosed arenas, while adding sharper visuals, new fighters, and fresh mechanics. All eight original “Vipers” return, joined by newcomers like Emi, a mecha-teddy-bear-wielding prodigy, and Charlie, a BMX rider rival to skateboarder Picky. The game’s trademark armour system lets you batter opponents until their protective gear shatters, exposing them to greater damage. In a new twist, losing all your armour unlocks the chance to perform a cinematic “Super K.O.” finisher.
The Dreamcast port, was only released in Japan and PAL regions (Europe and Australia). It preserves the arcade’s fast pace and exaggerated style, complete with walled arenas that could be used for wall-bounce combos and dramatic knockouts. While it lacked some of the Model 3’s graphical polish, it offered smooth performance, hidden unlockable characters (including boss B.M.), and the same wild mix of fashion, music, and extreme-sports attitude that set the series apart from more grounded fighters.
