Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is a seventh generation video game system developed by Microsoft, succeeding the original Xbox. First launched in November 2005, it competed against Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii. Unlike its predecessor and successors, which were i86/x64 based, the Xbox 360 used a PowerPC architecture (based on the contemporaneous PlayStation 3), and in later models would continue to use a semi-custom SoC. In addition to Xbox 360 software, the platform provides inbuilt emulation to be backwards compatible with a significant number of original Xbox titles.
