biohazard 0

バイオハザード 0

Known as “Resident Evil 0” internationally, a prequel to the series and the first to be see substantial improvements from a more modern console. One of the first 2 disc GameCube titles, included a memory card.

Description

The prequel to Biohazard, set just before the infamous Mansion Incident, it follows S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team medic Rebecca Chambers and escaped convict Billy Coen as they uncover sinister secrets aboard a zombie-infested train and within Umbrella’s abandoned training facility. The game introduces a unique “partner zapping” system, allowing players to switch between Rebecca and Billy in real time to solve puzzles and manage combat. Each character has distinct strengths e.g. Rebecca can mix herbs while Billy is physically stronger, making teamwork essential.

Unlike previous entries, Resident Evil Zero removes the traditional item boxes, replacing them with a drop-and-retrieve system that adds strategic inventory management. The game retains the series’ classic tank controls and fixed camera angles, but its richly detailed environments and eerie sound design advanced greatly with the GameCube’s capabilities. The game mechanics resulted in a mixed reception although the game was welcomed for deepening the lore around Umbrella and setting the stage for the events of the original game.
