Motion control a P.I. (and secretary) through HK streets on makeshift vehicles, evading Triad pursuers. Hmm.
Description
Detective duo Toby and Karin flee Triad thugs through Hong Kong’s crowded streets—straddling office chairs, vacuum cleaners, baby strollers and more. You use the PlayStation Move wand to propel, steer and defend. Weighs very heavy in to the motion controls. A shake pedals your ride forward, tilting the controller guides your turns, a quick flick launches you into the air, and a jab bursts you ahead or kicks anyone in your path.
The game’s selling point is a rag doll physics resulting in chaos. I was never sold on motion controls beyond being a gimmick and reviews generally found this game quite unsatisfying, so confirmation bias will continue. Retrospectively, PlayStation Move games and many Wii titles really embody this period where games rushed towards motion controls without much thought or integration – or just abandoning existing controls entirely. Ruining many, in this case what could have been a quirky little game look back fondly at.
